| Beeswax candles are environmentally safe and do not contain
harmful chemicals. They burn very clean, are drip less and do not
create black soot as does the paraffin wax candle. Their burn time
is extremely slow providing hours of a warm, golden translucent
glow. They produce a natural honey scent therefore I do not add
fragrance
oils. I also only use 100% cotton wick. Paraffin candles are basically made from leftover sludge produced by petroleum refineries. This paraffin residue is bleached with toxic chemicals and used to mass-produce paraffin wax. These toxic chemicals are emitted into the air when a paraffin candle is burned and creates the black soot that you see when the candle is burning. The paraffin candle burns very quickly compared to that of the beeswax. I burn beeswax candles in my home due to the above information about paraffin wax. Beeswax candles are more expensive, but in the long run are less than a paraffin candle due to the quality of the beeswax and their longevity of burn time. |
