In this busy world, we all need some time to unwind and "sit back and smell the
roses". This time for me is a stroll through my gardens. They consist of hundreds of
varieties of irises, daylilies and peonies along with many flowering shrubs, antique
roses, perennials and flowering vines. I watch the hummingbirds and butterflies exercising
their joy with all the sweetness in the garden. There definitely is a sense of tranquility
in all this, thus the name Tranquil Gardens.
In the midst of my gardening
comes the old-time craft of soapmaking. In the olden days, handcrafted soap was a
necessity. It still is a necessity for me due to the modern day technique of commercially
made soap. This is explained in "Why Handcrafted Soap". |

Handcrafted Goat Milk Soap |

Fresh, creamy goat milk is the main ingredient in my soaps. It is kind and gentle
to your skin and produces a lovely, rich creamy bar of soap. Goats milk soap is also less
drying to your skin.

100% Beeswax Candles |
|
Another pleasure of mine is making beeswax candles. They are very
natural in nature and produce a lovely long-burning candle with a very
pleasant natural scent.
Handcrafting is minimal in today's busy world. Our society has strayed
from the art of handcrafted items. I thoroughly enjoy a quality
piece that has been handmade.
When I travel, I am always on the search for that artist that may be
tucked away in the mountains weaving baskets, making wool rugs, soap
making, woodworking, hand-quilting, etc. It gives me great pleasure to see
gifted hands at work. I truly love working with my hands and
creating a handcrafted item that will be given as a gift to that special
person or even used by you personally. I do hope you will try
one of my creamy bars of soap or a warm glowing beeswax candle very
soon.
